Rep Power: 0 Tint Appraisal? New Rims?
So I emailed some local window tint companies too see how much it would be to get tint installed on my windows. The cheapest I could find is 150.00 for 35% in the front and 20% in the back. Is this a reasonable price for standard tint? and are the percentages reasonable?
also...
I'm looking for some nice rim/wheel brands that have high quality rims but for no more than 150 a piece. Any considerations?

$150 is reasonable to average, just make sure if you go for the least expensive guy he offers a warranty. Cheap tint jobs tend to bubble up.

cheaper tint jobs tend to use a two piece rear window tint so you will see a line through the middle of the rear window. and konig makes good wheels.

konig, enkei, and buddy club make nice rims for cheap. A big thing for me is the weight of the rim (comapred to stock), so thats why I went with the buddy clubs.. I think they cost me 150-160/rim for 17's
what size you looking at getting?

@lowlife- I'll ask to see if that's the process he uses.
@riceboy- well the stocks are 15", and i'd rather not have to buy all new tires as well as rims.

^+1 Just go for a cheap set of tires to start with or save up, Nexen are decent quality for the price. Stock size tires on aftermarket rims won't look very good.

Oh, ouch PA laws are strict, And I thought it was CA laws that were strict...
Windshield No tint is allowed on the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 70% of light in.
Means you only can have 30% all around

yeah but the tint guy said that as long as they can look into the window, they wont pull you over. so even having 20 in the back is risky, but if you just drive down the road you can see tons of cars with tint less than 35.

no they arent. theyre all untinted except the top of the windshield has a blue sun-tint on the very top (which is prolly standard for any car)

I was talking to a guy at canadian tire and he told me that in ontario the law is that there is really no law for how dark your tint can go ... the law says that the driver of the car must be visible though. So even if you have the lightest tint in the front ... if the cop is just decides to be a douchebag, he can techincally fine you and say you werent visible... but obviously that's not reasonable and won't ever happen. So most people just stick to 35 front 20 rear

The shop im going to has 35%, 20% and 5%. I like 20 in the back, but i think 35 might be too light. and im a little frightened to get 20s up front.

yeah at first my madre was against it but i pointed it out, and said most factory cars produced within the last 5-10 years already come with 35 or 20 tint, and it does more than make me look like a hoodlum. lmao. but im liking the before and afters, i can see what youre sayin with the all or none thing. it looks pretty weird without front tint.

this will be the second thing ive done. i eventually wanna get a spoiler, new rims/wheels, and possibly fog lights. then i'll be happy with my civ. with the newly tinted windows, would maybe a black rim with a white or chrome circle around the edge look right with a silver sedan?
