Hello I have searched for the past 5 hours trying to find a answer to my question. Is it possible to put a 7th gen cluster in a 1st gen crv "which would be 6th gen I think to you guys" Now I know i would have to rewire the pins but is the wires the same all through the years because I have a pin layout for the crv but where would the A/T gear postion indicator pins go or do they not need to be put in there? I know as well i would have to cut my cluster wires and hook them to the new cluster connectors.
Thank you all for your time.

It may work. You might have to wait for other members to answer that since I have never done cross model swap before. But first of all u should provide more info about ur crv first whether it has manual or auto tran. U mention a/t but I do not know Is that on ur crv or on the 7th gen cluster.
Second, 7th has two style of cluster wiring. I do not know all
In 01-02 model and 03-05 dx, vp has the same layout while 03-05 lx and ex has another layout. 7th gen has three style of cluster (illumination light may be different eg coupe has red illumination while sedan has blue for the newer style LED cluster)
You need to search the cluster swap thread here. It is well documented.
This is just to help u start. Please read 01-02 to 03-05 cluster swap.
I may not provide accurate info. So members please correct me if u see any incorrect point.

Theoretically it might work if you cross the pins over, but I've haven't heard of someone doing an analog to digital cluster swap before, so if something goes wrong I think that would be what causes it. The clusters aren't the same shape either, so you'd need to do a lot of cutting and molding.

I dont think anyone has done this before. Just swap the pins to the correct locations and see what happens.
You also need custom mounting and custom bezel once its all said and done.
