If your civic was not your first car, lets hear what it was! The crappier the car the better Lets hear the stories haha.
My first car was actually a van. 1995 Chevy Astro. Red with a Red interior. It was absolutely putrid. It used to be the family van till it died, then we all thought it was gone. Once I got my license my dad decided to "surprise" me with my own ride... I sure was surprised. Hated that thing, but at the same time I loved it haha. Loved the freedom, hated the shitty van, but even now I fantasize about what I could have done to that van had it lived longer then the 6 months that I had it.. :P It served me well for those 6 months so I can't complain..too much haha.
Let me know your stories!

the good part would be that they are very easy to work (much less electronics).
Heck, the beetle took me only 15 minutes to drop the engine (they come from the bottom, 4 bolts to trans, the dynamo wiring and the fuel line and engine was out).

started with a '98 tercel that was my dad's. 1.5 liter four banger. no tach, everything manual except the tranny lol. glad i learned on it though, because it survived 2 fender benders from me alone. then i adopted a 98' corolla also from my dad. that was my first taste of "power" lol (125 hp). that was the first car i actually worked on... installed a set of infinity speakers in the front and some cheap jvc's in the back. then swapped the stereo. it was fun
then i passed down the corolla to my little bro and adopted yet another one of my dad's cars. a 2005 echo. i was driving a lot so the better gas mileage was why i liked the echo. after growing tired of auto tranny's, i set my eyes on a nice car.
while going through the cycle of toyota's, i learned manual on a 2000 civic with 320,000 km. original clutch and tranny lol. once i had the basics of manual down, i honed my skills on a 2007 caliber. ive also driven a 2007 wrx sti, 1991 prelude, '97 crv, and a 2006 sentra. so ive had a broad scope of driving.
then i bought my 2005 civic lx-g sedan. love it to death, and plan to keep it until her very last days.

My Dad's '84 escort wagon. Had it 6 months and a friend wrecked it. 2nd was an '84 mercury lynx (re-badged escort) that I wrecked 3 times in the right corner before I had to total it. I was an idiot back then, wrecked it into the same tree.

Mine had no options. All it had was ice cold A/C which I never used because I was too cheap. Damn thing is still running to this day and starts up every day without a hitch. Its got rust, squeaky belts, needs tie rod ends, an alignment, and probably a bunch of other stuff. Oh well, I'm not the one driving it, so if they don't wanna take care of it, it won't bother me too much. Although there is still some sentimental value because it was my first car.

My second car was a shitty shitty SHITTY! 98 Saturn SL2. Again my dads doing. He bought it for 130 bucks! then spent like 400 fixing it and even then it drove sub par. The guy who had the car before me apparently had a sound system in it and tore it all out, leaving me with two big wholes in the back where the rear speakers used to be, no head unit, and two SHITTY speakers up front. I bought a pioneer deck cuz the cables were already there. The thing cost more then the car, ON CLEARANCE! The radiator started leaking coolant, so had to get that fixed... Then water plained and smashed my front left tire on a curb basically destroying the hub...
I was actually looking for winter tires for it when I found my civic, thank god I found it when I did :P Dad had no participation in buying this vehicle! haha

My first was a 1974 BMW 2002. I never got to daily drive it because of all the work it needed but I did learn how to drive a manual, and do burn-outs because of it.
The first car I drove daily was a 1984 Civic sedan. I LOVED that car! All 80hp.
Second car was a big POS but it was free. A 1979 Buick LeSabre 2 door.
That thing was HUGE! Damn thing could have killed me when a ball joint let loose at 45mph.
One power window worked, there were two holes in the floor, the suspension was worn out, it got 8mpg in town (350, V8), but the air blew COLD.
Third car is my favorite. 1988 Acura Integra RS. I drove that one for 11 years, got an 89 LS in much better condition to replace the 88. Drove that one four years and it got totalled. Got a black (Rare!) 88SE last year and I still love the first gen Integra!
