Exclamation 215,000 miles on civic- struts never replaced

Hi everyone,

I have a 2002 honda civic with over 215,000 miles on it. However, the struts have NEVER been replaced. First of all, how screwed am I? Are they going to cost a fortune to be replaced? Also, what will happen if I keep putting off replacing them? Sorry for the n00b question, but I had to ask.

Thanks,

Matt

If they work fine then your good. If they blow the only thing that will happen is the area that blows will sag and it will be more bouncy. If they start to get bad just replace them, its not to much.

Well, do you have any clunks coming from the rear end? Does it ride okay? Nothing strange?

If they work fine then it is no big deal... once they go bad then replace them.

on Friday I had my 2 rears replaced for the first time and my car has 265k kms on it... passenger side was leaking bad and drivers side was starting to leak. I had noticed a major clunk.
