My car is a 2001 EX with about 150000 miles on it. when i hit about 3000 rpm there is a loud grinding noise coming from my engine. i thought it was my transmission but it the sound can happen as soon as i start the car.
what should i do? i dont want to take my car to honda because i dont want to have to pay 10000$ for this.
Could it be the valves?

check your oil. doesn't matter that you got it changed last month. if oil has leaked out enough. you could have been running with no oil and toasted bearings.

Timing belt tensioner maybe... You had your timing belt done recently? If so check if the shop did the tensioner as well. When honda replaced mine they *forgot* to do the tensioner as well.
it produces a soft metallic grinding noise at higher rpm.
