Tire Size Help??

Hey guys I have 17x7 rims and im looking to get new tires, I had 205/40 but the ride was terrible. I want to go with a bigger tire but im not sure what size. I was debating between 225/45 and 215/45. I also am thinking of dropping the car so I have to take that in consideration.

Thanks

Re: Tire Size Help??

yea 205/40 wouldnt be very good on a 17x7. its not wide enough, and they are too thin.

you need 215/45. 225 will fit but its too big. you dont need to go to a 225 on a car that has a stock of 185. also, if youre dropping the car, thats more reason not to need 225, you might run into a problem with the tire rubbing as you turn, or having to roll your fenders to fit the width. totally pointless.

i have 17x7 and use 215/45 and ive never had a problem with ride comfort and 215 is already 30 mm wider than the stock 185.

Thanks for reply, did you lower your car yet? and what height did you do. I was thinking about eibach sportline springs and they lower it 2 inches.
