Cower Stage 2 Cam

How much hp would a cower stage 2 cam add to a stock d17a2?

Re: Cower Stage 2 Cam

First you need k-pro to tune it. Second, I'm assuming you mean the N/A cam. Third, you need valve springs and retainers. Fourth, I'm also assuming you already have an intake, header and exhaust.

All that being said, most numbers usually show around 140-ish with a decent tune.

Re: Cower Stage 2 Cam

What about a stage III with everything that you have mentioned? Would that be too aggressive for a daily drive?

The stage 3 has been used a few times to my knowledge, and works just fine once tuned properly. However, there are some issues with it. It's a really really aggressive cam to begin with. With the way vtec works in the d17, it can be made to idle without issue, so DD isn't an issue. The problem is that, in an N/A application, the engine doesn't have enough static compression for the cam. The stage 2 actually makes more power than the stage 3 with stock pistons. With higher compression pistons, the stage 3 should make much more power, but I've never seen anyone run this setup before. The stage 3 cam is great for high boost applications though, just because you need such an incredible amount of airflow.
