Hey guys, I'm new to civics. I currently drive a 97 prelude and realize the power loss I will be obtaining, but I'd really like a 04 si. I've found one with 18xxx miles and it is in near perfect condition, but I'd like to get as much info as possible before buying. So any tips or suggestions would be helpful, even if it's to buy a different car haha. I bought the lude without research and ended up doing the auto to manual swap and countless other things, don't wanna run through that nonsense again. Thanks for any information. -chase.

firstly where do you live? do you mean an si ep3 hatchback? or an si 2 door coupe? in canada we call the ep3 hatch 'sir' and the coupe an 'si', where in the states, they call the ep3 hatch an 'si', and the coupe an 'ex'.
they all run great, theres information everywhere on here you just have to do a bit of research. regardless of which one you get, theyre reliable, easy to work on, and excellent on gas which you obviously know if you already drive hondas. most important for you would be to make sure you bought a standard rather than doing an auto to standard swap.

I say buy the ep3, they are great cars and fun to drive. I have one myself and i love it. I have had 4 other hondas in my life and the ep3 is my favorite one yet.
If you need alot of advice from the fellow 02-05 civic si owners then go onto ephatch.com and ask and they will all tell you that the ep is such a great car.
But if you do get the si then you are welcome over to ephatch.

Thanks guys, my main reasoning was the mileage and "lack" of maintenance. Right now my prelude needs a lot of work due to the last owner being a total ricer, and the ep3 is a sexy car in every way. So hopefully I'll be a proud owner soon enough.

Re: 2004 civic si
in canada if they call the civic si an sir and si an ex, what is the ex? a dx?
Canada vs US
SiR - Si
Si - Ex
Ex - ?
when i search up the vin on carproof / carfax for a canadian Si and a Ex they both show up as EX
whats the difference between the two?
