gas smell in my cabin... :/

There is he smell of gasoline mixed with exhaust that comes into the cabin. Its not losing gas. I release the pressure from the tank, no change. It gets worse when i drive it hard. No holes in the lines. Everyone tells me its running rich. This guy said to put a higher octane in it. Its an 02 si. Ohh and the smell stays but dissipates after its been parked.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Raw gasoline smell, or exhaust smell?

Smell when you open the hood?

Is the hatch fully closed? Good seals there? (dollar bill test the door seal)

Got cat or cat delete?

Start the car take a rag shove it in the tail pipe and hear if it's pumping out air anywhere. Sounds like a gasket if there is no hole in any pipe. There is a manfaold gasket and if it's leaking there might not be a noticable hole or there could be a hole in the catalatic converter on top that you don't see. The fact is you smell exhaust and gas.
