Let me start by first saying I am completely new to this forum and Civics in general. I have never owned a foreign car before considering I drive an 06 Charger and have an 89 Crown Victoria & 05 Mercury Marauder show cars and a 98 Explorer I use for hauling parts, junk, whatever the Explorer is my kick around vehicle. The charger is my daily driver and the Crown Vic is when I just want to make scene. Although I previously mentioned all American made cars, I myself grew up on imports. Growing up my mother owned a Toyota Celica with manual transmission and a 3 inch exhaust a real speedy little noise maker that I loved to ride. After it gave out she began a relationship with Accords starting with a brand new 96 from then on out she upgraded Accords every 2 years from 96, 98, 00, 03, 05, 07 and then last year she gave up her run on the accords and went green with the 08 Prius. Now me personally I have wanted an import to work on for a while and for the longest I wanted what everyone else wanted a 96-98 but I as I began looking around I managed to find an '05 Civic LX with some heavy body damage. I got it for $700 the car has 67,000 miles on it but hey its a honda right. Well so far I have fixed the body entirely replaced the back end fixed the front and all the fenders with aftermarket OEM look a like parts. Along with that I added some speakers (So far 6 inside planning to cap at 12) and two twelves in the back for a nice sound system now I need speed.
Which brings this long ass story to a point. I want to drop a real engine into the car its an LX so the stock engine is bull. Now considering 80% of my car fund goes to my Crown Vic I dont have to much stretch to spend I need to know what type of engine to get that is the best reliable and has good stock hp I will mod it later on. Please include the full deal if you can like price of engine mounts labor all of that I know zero about these cars. Aside from that if it can come Auto Trans I would prefer but if not I can drive Manual?
Thank you all in advance and I do apologize for the long essay Im a noob.

If you have like 10 grand or so then you can't beat a K series engine. Take one out of a RSX type-S. If you don't have that kind of green go with B series. Reliable and nice aftermarket support. Not sure on the costs but it should be cheaper then K by several thousand. The K20 out of the RSX is about 200 whp I believe. Might be alittle more or less. the B series depends on which car you pull it out of.
B's dont go in either.... not without lots of work, and a k swap is around 3-7 just depends on what you do were you get parts who does it and loads of other stuff....
You have like two choices boost or k swap thats the only way to get power, and both are expensive. You could do the EX head swap but 10hp more you may not really feel it tbh.

When you say B's dont go in either what do you mean? and where can I look to find out info on who in Miami, FL can drop a new engine into my vehicle with a costing an arm & leg. I can do $5 grand but 10 thats a heavy number considering I'm not trying to street race just want to be able to haul a$$
Depends on how much you crank up the boost and what parts you use to do it. We have folks making anywhere from low 200s to well over 400 to the wheels.

There's a good chance that I'm not going to answer your PM.
