just paint the oem emblem. i tried it with smoke color metalcast paint which sprays right onto chrome and keeps the shine. i already sold this one but its easy to diy. just keep adding layers til it reaches the right darkness.

you can use the old one so long as its in good shape, but you might break it trying to remove it. the rear has those two pegs or rivets you will see with the trunk open, and it also has some double sided tape i think. the front grill has rivets in the back and must be broken off. you will need to use double sided tape to reattach it. the alternative is paint the emblems on the car, just be sure to cover the car so you dont get paint everywhere.

how do you think that would look on a 2002 Black Sedan?
it looked terrible on silver, but i think black would be much better. if you dont like the smoke color, you can always paint over it with a gloss black spray paint. but you must paint the chrome with metalcast paint first. regular paint will not stick to the chrome and youll have a mess.

Your probably going to want a semi gloss or high gloss so it matches the shine of the rest of your car. Over time the gloss of spray paint will fade so make sure you detail it up after you let it fully dry a week to lock down the paint job. I spray paint a lot (an old hobby... yahmean) and you'll notice that the paint with the gloss built into it wont come out of the can perfectly even. After it dries, you'll get spots that are really shinny, and others that are fairly dull, but with an emblem thats so small you'll hardly notice. If you do, just shoot it with a clear coat/ desired gloss when your finished with the color coats.
I'd either sand it first (which is really hard on the stock chrome) or use an etching primer- which basically clings right onto the surface without the need to excessively sand it down.
