I just want to see what you guys think. Has anyone dealt with this seller before? Is there anything wrong with this set of wheels? He does have the necessary hubcentric ring and lugs/nuts in stock.

they look nice, id like to see how those looked when all finished. what colour is your car?
also, i would suggest you look into packages if they have them. its always cheaper to get someone online to send the complete wheel ready to install rather than you going to a shop and getting rubber/valve stems/balance, and then buying your own centering rings/lugnuts and installing.
Well the thing is i'm keeping the stock tires that originally came with my car since it fits onto these rims. I know i need the hubcentric rings, but i'm not sure if i need new lugs or valve stems. My car is Magnesium Metallic btw.
Hmm interesting... maybe i should buy the new wheels mounted with new tires instead. It sounds like quite a hassle to find the new equipment and someone to install. I found this website called tirerack.com, looks pretty good so far anyone heard of it?
It's really not that hard. Most tire places will mount the tires for pretty cheap and any reputable place will install new valve stems just to avoid the chance of a leak. Here in Canada they charge around 20 dollars a tire to remove the old one and mount the new one with new valve stems, which includes a balance. Premounted is easier though, no doubt about it.
its always way less of a hassle, trust me. you dont want to bother getting rims from one place, tires from another, mount and balance, then center rings and lug nuts too. ive looked into it a few times and not only does it take longer to get it all together, but you have to go through the annoying part of getting it all. its best to just do it all at once, and usually if you get everything done through one company, they will give you a better deal on the full combo. tire rack is usually good from what ive read.
i got my full kit from discounttiredirect.com. rims, tires, stems, mount and balance, center rings and lugnuts all to my door and it worked out better for me. not only cheaper, but also saved me all the time and hassle. i had them on in half an hour after getting them. (after almost getting ready to smash the ups guys face in for throwing two of them over the fence onto my grass, haha)
lol yea UPS can be a pain once in a while. One time they couldn't deliver a package to my house so they left it 15 miles away from where i live instead of the UPS locations less than 2 miles away. I checked out discounttire.com too, it seems like their wheel selection is about the same as tirerack's. Both sites seem to say that i can use the stock tires with 15x7 wheels which doesn't make sense to me since procivic.com's tire guide says i can only go up to 15x6.5 with the stock tires. I'm also worried about the weight since i do want the car to perform better. Does anyone know how much the stock steelies weigh?
i remember gearbox saying it one time, i know he knows for sure. anyway you should be fine with the 7s, but why do you specifically want to keep the stock size? how come you want to stick to 15s instead of 17s? you can still get pretty good comfort in 17s if you get the right tire. 16s too.
I want to keep the 15s because they're lighter and less expensive. If i'm getting something this expensive for appearance i want to atleast have a slight performance gain as well. I've heard that wheel weight can affect handling quite a bit because of rotational inertia.
well for the most part in our cases, i would say the biggest difference youd see in handling with the wider tires (or lower profile if you did it) is the fact that they hug the ruts in the road a bit more so your steering can kind of jerk at times.
closer to stock doesnt always mean cheaper either. you can get a set of 16 or 17 with nice tires for the same price as 15s with tires now. i seen discounttiredirect also has a 50$ rebate if you purchase online, and shipping is all free if youre american. if you look good on there you can probably find a set of everything complete for 600ish after rebate.
I haven't gotten them yet. I'm still in the process of deciding if i even want to get them anymore. It seems like too much money, especially something that will get ruined driving in snow.
Yea thats what one of my friends told me to do too, just keep the stock wheels for winter time. But i've decided that i'm just going to keep the car stock. This is my first car so i'm just going to learn more about maintaining and repairing cars first before i start doing upgrades i guess. Like right now i'm trying to get rid of a small line of rust under my rear license plate, and trying to get rid of some scratches. I thank you all for this great information though, really appreciate it.
