Yes it is possible to swap from auto to manual. The problem is that it is expensive, and it is easier to just get a manual civic. If you still want to do it use the search button

you're looking at $3000+ if you're doing most if not all the work yourself. considering you'd be doing it on a 120hp car it's definitely not worth it. its much more fun to drive a manual, but not $3000 worth of fun. bottom line is, stick with what you got and save a pretty penny for a nice manual honda or acura with a k20 as your next car.

if you get too anxious, sell your current car and use the money as a down payment on a newer manual... imo, it wouldn't be worth it to do a engine or tranny swap unless it's a unique project/show car.

Re: Possible tranny swap?

Thanks guys for your help. I think ill just save up some money and get a manual. Its not worth spending 3000 just for a new transmission. Maybe get a new si and customize from there.

Re: Possible tranny swap?

not gonna lie the new i-vtec 6spd accords are sexy as hell. plus they're putting out a mild-mannered 0-60 in just under 6 seconds.

i saw an article a while back when it came out late last year that the pros thought that car was a lexus at first glance. in fact, if you shave the badges and change out the front grill that thing will look straight up presidential

Re: Possible tranny swap?

That accord is pretty sweet and it would look like a lexus if you shaved everything off ha

It doesnt cost 3 grand to do the swap, people have done it far cheaper. Wait around for the parts and you could do it for a grand.
