Sound Deading / Insulation

So here's the thing guys, one thing I hate about my Civic is the door are very thin, and closing the door to hard makes the door vibrate. Especially with the window down.

Should I Open up the door panels and stuff foam/sound deading in there

Re: Sound Deading / Insulation

well not to put down your masculine strength or anything, but first things first, if your door vibrates or shakes that bad when its being shut, youre pulling it too hard.

our doors close really easily with very little effort, they dont take much. the only thing that really stops your door from being shut is the wind that it pretty much hits on the way to closing.

you could probably stuff a bunch of crap in there but depending on how much you put it, where you put it, you might end up putting too much or putting some in the wrong places, and if it came down to you ever having to do any work in your door panel, it might just be a huge mess. besides, i dont think that would help all that much anyway. just close your door lighter

Re: Sound Deading / Insulation

put a layer of dynamat in the door, will make the doors close more like a luxury car.

Re: Sound Deading / Insulation

7th gen, got it... my window shakes pretty bad when its halfway down and I close it.. when I got a friend who closes the door I know they are thinking my door sounds like its about to break in half... I hate that feeling. I think the issue is when the door enters into the window, it doesnt sit snugly in the track, and there is some wobble. I think it should be a easy fix- just need to pop the door panel off and watch the window roll up and down a few times to really dial into what the root of the issue is.
