Ive went to that shop where he had his stuff done which is ARI and they said they couldn't remember what they did. They said he probably went to tokyo motorsports and they went to ARI for engine work. I couldn't find Tokyo Motorsports and i was told it went out of business. So the trail is cold. All this guy at school would say about it was its fully built and was dynoed at 160hp. He had a chrome ARI emblem where ex should have been. But for real that SOB was quick. The guy at ARI said he would port and re-valve my head. But im broke as hell right now and I didn't even ask for a quote... Damn $1,700 every 6 months insurance.

ive heard of cold soldering to fill the spaces around the valves where they open to raise compression and so there is almost no exhaust gasses left inside the chambers for when the oxygen is being pulled in when the piston goes down. have any of you heard of this before too??? and if you have, how good is it to do??
a d17a2 is knocked because it doesnt make that much power. andyman is boosted to 21 psi. you think your stock 1.7L would even touch that. n the civics internals are already pretty strong-just look how well andys engine is holding up on 21psi...for power you need turbo or swap. there simply isnt much power to be made from 1.7 liters...
it is totally possible. most of these guys on here just like to be dicks to d17 owners. you can get 200 hp n/a. upgrade the internals and dyno. altho it would be easyer to turbo. look at andyman97's specs. he makes me proud to own a d17a2.

FUCK WITH THAT!
yoy forgot to mention most of these d17 dicks are d17 owners...
