2006 Civic Auxiliary Jack Installation.

Is there anybody had the experience of the installation for the 2006 Civic
Auxiliary Jack in this forum?.

I would like to perform the "Do It Yourself " installation. However, I worry
about the removal of the plastic center console cover. The instruction from
Honda related to the removal of the 5 clips is not that clear if at all!

I do not know if I will need any special tool(s) so that I will not cause any
scratches or damage to the plastic cover, or should I just yank it out?.

I thank you for any advice about the removal of the plastic console in
particulary if anyone is an experience Honda technical guru!

Thanks,

I ended up having the dealership do it since I was worried about having the dash not fit smoothly back together and ruin the look completely.

That being said, it didn't appear to be TOO diffucult when I looked into doing it myself. Best of luck!

Civic 2006 LX - AUX Port Installation - Update (6/24/2006)

Greetings,

Other than this forum, I also signed up with edmund.com forum.
With the help of a memeber name doan4u, he directed me to the
following web site:

http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5351

With this link you should have many great details pictures related to
Center Console removal. Basically, you should first follow the installation
instruction as to moving the transmission stick to N for automatic, set the
parking break all the way up, then remove the center console by your fingers
*** No tools are needed *** (Do not use any flat head screwdriver - It
will for sure damage the plastic canter console edge), just use your finger
nail and pulling the console straight up, starting at the bottom near the
transmission stick and working your way toward the radio.

The clips are a little tight but I do not encountered any issue.

Hope these info help!

Best Regards,
