Go Back   Honda Civic Forum > Honda Civics by Generation > 8th Gen Honda Civic

8th Gen Honda Civic 2006 and up is the 8th Generation Honda Civic. It adds a new look to the Civic line-up. A really smooth front end separates it from previous generations while still carrying the reliability of the Civic name.

Exclamation New to the Forum... I can hang with both crowds now

Just picked up this 09 this weekend...runs real good

Well, my other ride runs pretty good as well....392 Stroker with a 66mm Turbo

The one thing I noticed about the SI... the air box seems a bit restrictive... I have not used the search function, but for those that have more experience with these cars, what would be a good recommendation.

thanks in advance

Re: New to the Forum... I can hang with both crowds now

it's designed so that SI makes the unique sound....you can remove the resonator box and have a sorta CAI intake

pics are not mine and the description below...

"this is a diagram of a standard intake tract and a mugen intake tract for a JDM civic (FD2). Our intake tract is set up exactly the same way. in the "STD" diagram, you can see that the air is coming in through the top of the fender, going down into the resonator (which contains a series of pipes to quiet and "tune" the sound of the air), and then back up to the airbox and finally through the throttle body."
