8th Gen Honda Civic 2006 and up is the 8th Generation Honda Civic. It adds a new look to the Civic line-up. A really smooth front end separates it from previous generations while still carrying the reliability of the Civic name.

Antifreeze Question

My 08 Civic EX Coupe is now about to turn 20k miles. I was checking the antifreeze level last week and noticed it is a tad bit low. Is this normal? I noticed under the hood where the notice says to use Honda antifreeze. If not other antifreeze could damage the engine. What type of antifreeze do you all use? Thanks.....Matt To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: Antifreeze Question

Agree with original fluids only.

Check the level when the engine is at temp ( it will have the most fluid in reservoir) and then check it hot each time. It will move a little up and down but not very much.

Maybe the dealer will give you a little added to the system. Not sure if the 8th gens still use the blue or not.

Re: Antifreeze Question

coolant evaporates eventually, summer just passed alot of heat more evaporation. Fill it up and if it goes low noticably quick u probably have a leak.
