Wiper Replacement WTF???

8th Gen Honda Civic 2006 and up is the 8th Generation Honda Civic. It adds a new look to the Civic line-up. A really smooth front end separates it from previous generations while still carrying the reliability of the Civic name.

Wiper Replacement WTF???

Okay, I need to replace my wipers already on my 07 Civic EX Cpe. I can't see when it's raining, the wiper smears the water like crap on the driver side. Now to start off; where do I get a set of these funky wiper refills? Autozone doesn't show it on the book and I just checked the CSK website and they also don't carry them. I did a google and didn't get much luck either. Do I have to go to the dealer? As far as installing them I was reading on other threads that people are saying they are downright impossible to take off and put on without damaging the refill? I'm not very impressed at all by these so called wipers. Why couldn't Honda stick with what has worked for years for every other auto maker?!! Any input I could get would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Wiper Replacement WTF???

first off.....relax man! lol
next, it cost like 12.00 for both refills on your 8th GEN Civic.
Thirdly, goto Honda and get em'
Last....a simple clip at the end of the wiper pops straight up and the refill slides right out.

Easy as PiE!

You were right FGCoupe. At my dealer they were like 7.87 each and they were a walk in the park to install. Whoever's having problems installing these must not be able to pump their own gas.

Re: Wiper Replacement WTF???

Anyone know the p/n for the little clip at the end of the wiper? My g/f went to the dealer the other day to get new blades, and the idiot tech noticed the clip was gone, told her about it, but didn't offer to get a replacement p/n, price, or part

Rather than go in and try to talk to the parts counter monkeys to figure out the p/n, I thought I'd try to see if yall knew anything first...

23, 24, 28, or 29. I think he meant one of those. 19 is the cover for the arm bolt. Good find on the diagram though. ATTN: BCool you should Bsure to Breppin' gearbox for his assistance.

just a rumor i was told... but doesn't rain-x make your glass more susceptible to chipping/breakage?

I've been using Rain-X for, oh, eight years and never heard or experienced anything like that. A brief Google of the topic shows no hits at all for that...

Re: Wiper Replacement WTF???

ive never heard it either. i have several chips, but that was due to huge pepples flying at me in a stupid construction zone. they sell something similar to rain-x called diamondite spray, it actually is supposed to reduce the chance of rock chips while also beading water. they use it on airplanes all the time.
