8th Gen Honda Civic 2006 and up is the 8th Generation Honda Civic. It adds a new look to the Civic line-up. A really smooth front end separates it from previous generations while still carrying the reliability of the Civic name.

Re: Wiper Replacement WTF???

Just finished reading through a myriad of posts on changing the wiper blades. There must be more than one type of wiper blade assembly (part #26) because there is no tab to "simply pop up" on the end of my blade. I did find the description of the blade assembly that I have on my 06' Civic EX sedan. Removing the cover to the clip where the blade attaches to wiper arm states that you squeeze the plastic inward toward the blade and pull. This was a useless exercise. You need a flat blade screw driver which you insert in the groove perpedicular to blade. Gentile twist the screw driver to force the cover in the direction that you would logically pull the cover. From there it is easy to follow the direction in the manual to detach the blade from the arm.

Now you must remove the wiper blade (#27) from the blade assembly. There were no clips on the ends my OEM blade assembly! Rather the entire blade assembly is covered in a rubberized material and at the end of the assembly the rubber can be easily pulled back exposing the end of the wiper blade. Make sure you are at the the end of the blade that says "lock". Grab the end of the blade insert with a needle nose plyers and pull. It slides out easily. Good luck.

Re: Wiper Replacement WTF???

I could not agree more with post #15. In fact pulling the cover was a useless exercise. Insert a flat blade screw driver into the groove that is perpendicular to the blade and proximal to the cover. Gently twist the screw diver to force the cover in the direction that you would logically pull the cover. The Honda manual then explains how to unclip the blade assembly from the wiper arm.

There must be more that one type of OEM blade assembly (#26) for my 06" Civic EX Sedan because there where no clips to "simply flip up". Instead, the entire blade assembly is covered in a rubberized material. At the end of the blade it is easy to push the rubberized covering up and expose the end of the blade insert. Make sure you are at the end of the blade that says "lock". Grab the end of the blade insert with a needle nose plyers and the insert slides out easily. good luck.
