Re: Just Installed AEM CAI on car whats next???

Also after I installed the intake on my car my buddy with a gto pulls up and tells me how much of a waste of time the intake is for my car. He basically explains to me that by putting it on my car im not adding any additionally horse power because i havent done any engine modifications or computer tunes. I told him that i should get about 5 or 6 horsepower more at about 6500 rpm's; he said Ill get nothing just a louder noise and decrease in gas mileage. He the went on to say, becasue the engine is still sucking in the same amount of air to mix with the gas there will be no gains. He told me only a computer tune will change the performance after the intake was installed. Who agrees? I dont I think that i still gain some benefit without doing anything else, just a small one?

I don't have any beef with you saying that about some dude with a d17 which is capable of absolutely nothing when naturally aspirated but come on.... nudge the guy towards NA when his motor is capable of it.
