What Speakers Should I Get ???????

I own a 2008 four door Civic EXL with a Nav and want to replace the speakers in hope of some better sonic pleasure ... so tell me what speakers would sound the best in my Civic's environment. To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: What Speakers Should I Get ???????

Id go to your local shop and check out some speakers there. Ive heard that polk makes some good stuff and MTX I know makes good subs. I would spend my money on getting a better amp though. The amp will last you a lot longer then good speakers and it will make the speakers sound better. I am just asuming that your are talking about subs. If you arnt, I wouldnt chnge the stock door and deck speakers they sound pretty good IMO.

Oh yea and make sure you put your subs in the right box it makes a huge difference.

Re: What Speakers Should I Get ???????

No I'm talking about the main speakers, my thinking is I bet most of the people out there couldn't tell the difference from one amp to another, but I bet they can tell the difference between one speaker from another. The main speakers sound pretty cheap to me and I already have had to back off on the bass a little so I don't blow them out at a higher vol.

Re: What Speakers Should I Get ???????

I'd look into some infinity's and some alpines. I have a 2007 SI coupe and I found the sound to not be that bad. Not as good as my old setup in my old car. I had Kenwood speakers and head unit and a Visonik Sub pack.

You are talking about your door speakers right?

infinity ftw! 6 yr old reference speakers with some torn rubber surrounds still sound awesome in my car.

Re: What Speakers Should I Get ???????

Depends on your music. Alpine, Pioneer, Clarion, Infinity are your budget brands. MB Quart, Focal, etc. will require amplification. Alpine or Pioneer are pretty Db sensitive and should play louder than others.

check crutchfield for fitment though...bought some that didnt fit they were too deep. For the rear it is not a problem as you can hack the stock speaker and make it work...

Spacers are your friend. I doubt Crutchfield would say many speakers would fit if they were mounted flush to the door.

Re: What Speakers Should I Get ???????

yup, usually a 1 inch spacer is needed, and if the door panel wont fit, you can trim the plastic edge inside the speaker grill.
