how much is too much

I am looking to get a brand new 07 SI sedan fiji Blue and i was wondering if wither my dealership was charging to much our that the price is about right. now they said that after my trade in and another 1000 dollars that it would bring the total cost down to about 19,258. does that sound right or not? i mean they only gave me 1800 for my trade in(I drive a sunfire, bad choice) and i gave them another 1000 and my credit is really good so i dont know if i should go through with it or just wait To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Re: how much is too much

A single dime over msrp is too much. Luckily, I don't think they're trying to put you that much over msrp so I guess you could deal with it. I would still go to a couple of other dealerships and see how much they would give you for your trade in and see if you can come up with something for the dealership you're at right now to compete with.

The fact that you're trading in a car & putting down cash would mean that they should be willing to work you into a better deal. Just my .02.

There is a dealership in San Antonio TX that seems to be doing a whole lot of good things for people.. They set everything up and then deliver the car to the dealership that is closest to you.

Hope that helps.

Re: how much is too much

so the 19,258 sounds good then? i just want to make sure before i go in there and get my hopes up then be surprised later on when i found out that i could gotten it cheaper. I think that the only way that it's going to get any cheaper is if it is salvaged or i wait awhile and find a used one

Re: how much is too much

What options are on this Fa5 that you're talking about getting?

If there are no options (no summer tires, no navi, etc.) you should get the price lowered a bit. Starting MSRP for an fa5 is $21,290 and you're talking about paying $22,058. If this is for an fa5 with navi I would say that you're getting a decent deal, but if it has no options at all then you should go somewhere else and tell the original place that you will not be working with them until they either give you more for your trade, or come down off the price.

Re: how much is too much

Im getting the sedan. I got a price of $20,332. I think sticker, incl destination charge, is $21,895. So I guess it was more like $1,600 off sticker. no complaints and cant wait to get it.
