8th Gen Honda Civic 2006 and up is the 8th Generation Honda Civic. It adds a new look to the Civic line-up. A really smooth front end separates it from previous generations while still carrying the reliability of the Civic name.

06 ex xm radio question

On the 06 EX coupe if I am reading this correctly, the stereo comes with a mp3/aux jack that you can plug a XM tuner into.... like say a delphi skyfi.

On the Honda website it states the radio is "XM Ready" and lists a XM option for $460 smackers. Stating it is "xm ready", what xm equipment will work with it? What is Honda selling for the $460?

Heres the other thread...

If you dont know, by adding a xm skyfi for example you can either broadcast on and FM radio station and pick it up by tuning to that frequency (sucky sound quality), or plug a male to male mini headphone patch cable from the unit to the Aux jack (better sound quality) in the Civic. By saying it is XM ready they mean your stereo will play XM directly through the head unit if you pay them to hook it up. I imagine the exorbanant cost is due to adding the reciever and installing the antenna to pick up the signal. Im currently running XM through my factory stereo and have Sirius going through the Aux jack so if you have more questions feel free to reply or pm me...otherwise Im shutting up now. Cheers.
