Anyone do a splash guard install? Anyone have pictures?

Hey all, Looking at getting the Splash Guards for our 2006 Civic LX sedan. Reading the install directions, it looks like even I could do it. Is it a pretty easy install? Can anyone post a few pictures of what the front ones look like since the Honda pics (I think) are of a rear guard. Thanks!

It should come with everything you need in the package. Just a drill and a screwdriver usually. Id like to see if I can get them painted to match the car color instead of the black matte finish.

It's actually even easier than that, no need to drill, just use a screwdriver per their directions.

Can you take a couple of pictures of yours as they are now so I could get an idea of how the paint looks next to the matte finish and how the lines of the car change with the guards installed?

I dont have them. Thankfully they were not all ready dealer installed on the car I picked. Another EX that was being sold same day as mine had them and I didnt like the look of the black plastic at all against silver(not so bad if you have other black plastic trim all over the car). But it ends up being like the only piece of black plastic in the entire area. You might as well get Yosemite Sam saying "BACK OFF" while your at it! The only way I would buy them is if I could get them painted to match the car, or my car was black. The car is too friggin classy and good looking for cheesmo plastic. Just my 2 cents.

I want to put these on my car as well. I will wait till mid summer, I hate messing with a new car. I like to let it chill for while stock, just me though.

I had them installed at the dealership where I bought the car. My car is Galaxy Gray, and I think it looks nice. I also had them install the moonroof visor and chrome exhaust finisher. All three together make the car look pretty sporty.

I just put the splash guards on. I also have Galaxy Grey. There was an EX coupe at the dealership that had them on the same color and liked them, but I'm not so sure on mine. I will try to post some pics later.


The install itself was super easy. However, I would recommend someone with small hands helping with the rear guards. (They can be a bit of a knuckle buster.) Also, the directions suggest using a stubby phillips. Ours was still to long. I used a small ratchet with a phillips head. This worked great. From start to finish it took about 15 minutes. Not including washing and waxing.

Sounds good. I really like these and with that colored car it would look awesome.
Just hope not every civic owner goes out to do this

I installed the splash guard last weekend.

The installation is very very and very easy and you do not need to drill
anything. It is a great engineering design from Honda.

The instruction specified that you use a pin to make the center hole for the
screws, I would suggest that after you made the holes, use a smaller size
screw first to make the starting thread for the holes, this will make it easier
for you to screw in the real screw latter.

About how they look "before and after", I think they look great in black
and blend in with any color (By the way my Civic is silver). Somebody would
prefer to have them painted to match with the body color. However, for me
I rather not due to the cost of the painting and beside my tires are black
anyway and I rather not painting all 4 tires to match with my body color .
