8th Gen Honda Civic2006 and up is the 8th Generation Honda Civic. It adds a new look to the Civic line-up. A really smooth front end separates it from previous generations while still carrying the reliability of the Civic name.

Also commemorate my car braking 1000 miles yesterday.
1st Honda ever
Car: Civic 4 Door EX Auto Transmission
Color: Galaxy Gray Metallic
Add-ons (at purchase): Mud flaps, Eight year extended warranty.
Add-on’s 3rd party. All season floor mats, Trunk mat, Wheel locks, HFP 17” wheels (for the summer), 2nd set of carpet floor mats for the summer, Four summer tires - 215/45YR-17 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 XL
Climate: Northeast (purchased last week of December 2005)
My Demographic: 61+, M, 5’11” , retired
Previous cars: Nissan Maxima and too many others to mention
Overall: Love this car. Bought it for style, comfort reliability and gas mileage. The wife likes the seats of all the other cars we test drove.
I really like the style. Have detailed the outside and inside. Washing and waxing this car was easy with no nooks and cranny’s to deal with. The Galaxy Gray Metallic paint has stood up well so far when you consider how much sand and salt is used around here in the winter.
Overall I’d say the exterior build quality is excellent. The doors close with a nice solid thunk. The windshield sprayers are really nice. They cover the whole windshield with a fine mist spray that really cleans well. Using RainX helps as well with the cleaning. Wiper blades are a neat unique aero design they press down harder on the windshield as your speed increases.
Love the blue backlighting and the digital speedometer and overall dash design.
Radio and climate controls are large and can easily be used with gloves on. Here in the Northeast this is important. Heater works great but the rear defroster is weak.
Seats were the deciding factor for my wife.
Front cup holders are awesome.
I’ve got the all-season Bridgestone tires with the car. I’ll use these as my winter tires and wheels and once they wear out replace these with Blizzacks. For the summer I went with the HFP 17” wheels and four summer tires - 215/45YR-17 Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 XL.
Engine is stronger than I thought it would be.
I’ve averaged about 31 miles per gallon on a total of 3 tanks of gas. I drive approximately 95% around town, short 5-10 miles trips, so this is what I expected. It’s advertised as 30 city mpg.
