8th Gen Honda Civic 2006 and up is the 8th Generation Honda Civic. It adds a new look to the Civic line-up. A really smooth front end separates it from previous generations while still carrying the reliability of the Civic name.

Anyone have a 2006?

So does anyone here have a 2006 Civic yet?
I know they are just brand new and not many people rush out to put off the showroom floor.

But if you have one, how does it compare to older Civic's?

No im not lucky enough to own one of these fantastic models but id have one straight away if i had the cash.

This car has won Car of the Year from Motor Trend© and some of the reviews there really speak highly of the comfort and classiness of this car.

This is truely the best in my opinion. I do like the older models but this one really makes me smile

Wow, car of the Year already?
I dont think they have judged it yet since it has only just been released.

Im sure it will win some awards later in the year though.

I thought it had been out 3 or 4 months now.

They tend to bring those out at this time of the year. It is a pretty nice car.

The car is out but they usually wouldnt judge an 06 car as car of the year until the end of 06 as there will be alot more cars coming out this year that should be in the running.

That said, I still havent seen that poll so I cant really say for sure if its true or not.

Tomorrow(friday) will be two weeks I have had mine right now it has 1030 miles. First tank wife filled it up and got 38 or 39 mpg she said doubt if the dealer filled it up like I do them. Second tank got 41.6 on it. Not bad. I bought this one as a commuter car 144 miles round trip to work. No problems yet rides great. This replaced a 01 NB TDI I had while the Civic want get the mpg the VW got I am happy. This one has the AT the VW was a 5spd.

I would almost get one purely for the great MPG, and I've also heard great things about Civics in general (hence why I am here. ). lshultz, how much did you get yours for?

I think they came 500 off the msrp. I did not drive the car today so the paper work is at the house.

Is the MPG really that good?
its not the hybrid model, so it wouldn't have absolutely outstanding economy.. or am I wrong?

Yes Sam I saw it win Car of the Year. The magazines like to get that released as the season ends and all the new cars are released.

Remeber the previous models usually start coming out many months before the previous year. So the 2006s were out in late 2005.
