We just bought a 2012 civic 4dr sedan LX with 88000 miles with automatic transmision. We test drove car twice with no noticable issues, but when i started to leave the parkinglot i noticed a bucking sensation when slowly accelerating. It kind of feels like the engine is multi misfiring real bad. One thing i did figure out it only does it in D where overdrive is available. If i put it in D3 it runs smooth with no problems.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Light acceleration, shakes around 24 MPH just after the trans shifts from 2nd to 3rd, or around 40 after the next shift?
Do a trans fluid service on it ASAP!
Simple drain and fill, using ONLY Hondas ATF-DW-1 trans fluid (about 3 quarts). If you can change your own oil, you can do this too.
This procedure may need to be repeated 3-4 times, as it's quite likely the trans has never ever been serviced, or if it were serviced the wrong fluid could have been used.
Flushing with chemicals and machines is strongly discouraged!

I would also see if you can pull any codes. I had this same issue intermittently and it was the Transmission Pressure Sensor that had gone or was in the process of going bad. Caused jerky operation and sometime slipping or lag in shifts.
