Picked up a 2006 EX with AT

Hi Folks-

Recently picked up a 2006 Civic EX with ~190,000 miles from 1st owner and have full history from day one.

Few questions:
  • Where can I download a service/repair manual?
  • What's the correct oil filter(purolator one or any cheaper one from Walmart)?
  • Any known issues with the engine block or anything? I test rode for 20-30 miles and then 40 miles home, no overheating or anything along those lines.
  • How many miles should I expect from this car? Provided, with all basic maintenance.
Thanks everyone

P.S: for reference, I drive like a grandpa.

From another GP..Order OEM filter off ebay...Usually 6 are a fair price. Same for a down load manual. Just read the feed back. That's a lot of miles for a Honda AT in my opinion but I am far from an expert for miles. Good luck.
There is one smart mechanic/expert who single handily stands above all others for help on this site. Stick around. Sure you will have a question.
And welcome aboard from Hampton Roads Virginia.

Thanks, I am in NoVA area, close to DC.

How much do you usually pay for a pack of 6? Thanks

Can anyone please point me to FAQs or Stickies for service manuals?

Probably a lot more then a generic at Walmart. (around $40) I service my cars and the ones for my two grandchildren. So I keep a supply on hand. Retired and plenty of time, so I just search Ebay, Amazon and Google and get a ballpark for best deal including shipping. My local Honda dealer is almost a 1/3 more then say College Honda (I use his fish for references and part numbers), so I have no loyalty to local.
Has taken me a long time to realize OEM is best and I still sometimes regress. Most OEM filters have the O ring seal rather then the square ring. Sometimes, square ring seal can be a real bear to get off.

Thank you. I am going to ask my local dealer to match online price and I think from now on-wards, will stick to Honda one.

Thank you. So roughly on average it's ~$6/filter, right?
