I have a 2015 civic ex. I just bought a set of Eibach Sportline springs to give it a nice drops and get rid of that wheel well gap. Its supposed to lower at max about 2.3 front 2.0 rear. I was wondering if theres any other components I needed to purchase and add to the installation to get it done correctly. Being that the car is only 1 year or so old I don;t want to do anything stupid and ruin the suspension since it will not be covered under warranty if the damage was caused by the springs. I hear a lot about camber correction but I'm still unsure since some ppl claim to have no problem with a 2 inch drop and tire wear or other components, I'd still rather be safe. I'm new to lowering so any info is helpful. I fire if I need other components installed it would be better to do it all at once. Also if anyone has any similar before/after pics for that model that would be great. Thanks.

If you're on stock wheels and tires you probably won't need anything else but a 4-wheel alignment after the new parts are installed.



If you've changed to wide wheels/tires/offset/spacers, then what happens next will depend on what's been done and what's wrong with how it drives...and what effect you are going for.
IF you end up rubbing tires against fenders, then you may need to roll the fenders, pull the fenders, and if rubbing is still an issue then you go for camber to get the tops of the tires to lean inward away from the fenders.
Then if you make the tires lean in at the top a lot, they tend to wear out the inboard edges of the tread quicker.

I have stock wheels/tires that I purchased with the car at the dealership. HFP 18 inch wheel/low profile tires, everything is stock from dealership. nothing has been modified as of now. I already have the Eibach Sprotline Springs for the car but I'm afraid to put them on seeing some fo the replies in posts. Some people say everything will be fine with the exception of some tire wear, others say you'll break the car w/o a camber kit. I've only had the car 1 year so I would kick myself in the *** later if I wasn't safe about it. From what I see The springs plus an alignment is fine. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't questioning it.

Additionally, I have been looking at camber kits. They seem affordable enough to go ahead an buy just in case. I do remember a moderator on the forums last year said "roughly", " you always want a camber kit". I'm trying to figure this out because I'm soooo ready to get that drop with the springs just sitting here. I defiantly want to be sure I do it right though. Any Input is helpful.

I would like to go ahead and install the springs, the camber kit will be here in a few weeks. I can get the springs installed for around 190ish to 350 bucks depending on how long it takes buy the tell me it should only take 2 hours or 3 at most @ 86/hr. I want to go ahead and get the drop done, I figured the camber kits are on the way. What do you guys think.

You might as well wait until you have the camber kit that way they can instal that and the springs. No point in going back/paying twice.

Your not gong to break the car without a camber kit, your tires will just wear unevenly and it may handle like poop.

Since they are stock wheels the offset will probably be ok and it won't rub but there is always a possibility. You can take a tape measure and measure 2"-2.3" down from the fender and that is about where the car will be.

I'd totally expect HFP wheels to clear the fenders just fine after lowering, no camber kits at all.... doubt you'll need anything other than an alignment.

^ do you think it will able to get back to spec alignment after a 2" drop?

My civic was fine in the front but the rear needed camber arms to bring it back within spec (it is a different civic so it might not need that).

The main lowered cars I've dealt with here had the Honda accessory suspension kits installed. They always aligned fine but I think they were only like an inch or so drop....I figure two inches isn't much more, and 2" is within the designed range of suspension travel so it shouldn't be far out if it is.


I do know that when replacing or modding the upper (camber) arms in the rear that toe changes a helluva lot, so it would stand to reason that would be a way to bring it back into working range----if needed.

Aftermath!? So you I got the alignment done just after install. Front is perfect. Rear is I think at about a 5 degree change. I'm told thats' ok, no big deal just don't drive crazy. Otherwise the install was perfect. I'll buy the camber arms when I can. Couple months or so. Thanks for your help guys. My before pic are gone, phone broke.

I hope you meant .5 degree, which isn't much.

As long as the tires don't rub I wouldn't bother with camber arms at all, no need for it.
Even if there is rub, rolling and/or pulling the fenders should be done first.
Camber arms is a last resort fix to stop tire rub IMO
