Rep Power: 0 HCH Will Be Sitting for 2 Months
My (now) son's 2007 HCH will be sitting unused for about two months, Will we be better off using occasionally or just wait for his return? If it needs a battery boost to start, should I disconnect the battery first to charge? And if it matters, this is Arizona, its sitting outside, and it should hit 115° this weekend.
Oil change was just done, gas tank's at about half, and the battery is almost brand-new.
Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Make sure the charge meter shows a full charge on the IMA battery before you let it sit. You can just rev the engine up to 3000 and hold it there until the battery meter shows full and the system quits charging it.
Every couple weeks you probably should repeat this process, as allowing the IMA battery to sit in a discharged state can damage it.
Once a month go drive it around for 20-30 minutes or more.
See page 213 in your owners manual for more details and info on storage.

Re: HCH Will Be Sitting for 2 Months
2 months is hardly any time too wory about anything going wrong.
Leave the batt cables on. I would start it once a week let it idle for a minute
and drive it around the block a couple of times to get any corrosion off the
brake disks, and not to mention getting the engine, & transmission
thoroughly Lubed up and Yes keeping the battery charged other than
that that's really all You need to do.
