Rep Power: 0 Doors sometimes auto lock while car is sitting
I have a 2014 EX-L. Some days it will auto lock at some point in the day while I'm working. Sometimes multiple times if I get in the car and then leave it to sit again. Then other times it will go for days and not lock. Is there some feature I'm not aware of and don't know how to use or is this a problem I need to be chasing down? I bought it first of this month with 20k miles. Everything seems like new.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

No features there (I did not see any service bulletins either).... I'd guess you are probably bumping the buttons on the fob.
If you hit unlock on the remote but do not open any doors, the car will relock itself automatically (I think this is what you have happening here).
I think the default time is 30 seconds but that's usually adjustable (15, 30, 60 sec) in the settings menu stuff in the IMID.
IF a door jamb switch is broken or flaky and doesn't tell the computer a door was opened, the computer will relock the car in 30 seconds.
IMO the key fobs on the newer cars are a poor design; the big wide buttons (on both regular key and keyless access cars) are far too easy to hit inadvertently, this is what most people do.....either with their thumb while pulling the key out of the ignition or sticking them in your pocket and getting bumped.
The key fob can have pretty good range too, 100 yards or better sometimes? I can stand inside our building and push buttons and see lights light up on cars at the far edge of our lot.

Thank you, I will keep an eye on it. Hitting buttons was my first thought but it didn't seem all that likely the way I was carrying the thing but I suppose it's possible. I also didn't know they had that great a range so I figured that even if I did hit a button it wouldn't get the signal.
