2010 lxs 25600 miles , drive shaft/cv joints
Hello everyone. This might not be new news regarding the cv joints but I am just sharing my recent repair. It's a 2010 LXs with 25600 miles and recently while making hairpin turns I heard the typical clack clack clack sound from the front end. I was made aware of this possible issue by a honda tech friend of mine , but at the time , over a year ago they were fine. Well the warranty ends at 5 years or 60k , maybe its 50k miles not sure. I took it to the dealers and they were changed at no cost under warranty. So If you have a 2010 or 2011 , do yourself a favor and make a few hard turns to the left and right ( full lock) and see if your drive shaft assembly is defective. I would not have realized this unless I was turning hard . Hope this helps and oh by the way , the new ones are now warranted also!

Re: 2010 lxs 25600 miles , drive shaft/cv joints
Hi Poopies,
Aparently most of us dont realize they are defective till a full lock is done. Hopefully the issue can be caught early enough before they really get worse and the warranty runs out ( Warranty info is in a separate booklet , that comes with the car) . I happened to drop by my tech friend one day and was telling him that the car is doing great , as to be expected with low miles for its age. Then he asked if my cv joints were ok as civics have been coming in with low as 15k miles for drive shaft replacements. I would think the new ones installed are a diferent batch than the originals. Nevertheless the car is doing great . The drive shaft is the first repair to be done and as a preventative measure I also changed the air conditioning magnetic clutch relay ( located in the fuse box , engine bay) with
the supposedly improved one ($18 , Dealer) , as the originals have been known to fail prematurely.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
