Hi there,
For a civic 2007 Ex manual transmission, Honda Dealer by my house told me to use Denso Plugs cause NGk Plugs is for Automatic transmision is that right or can I put Ngk Izfr6k11s in my Manual Civic.

Reality: Either.
The engine is no different and will not care one way or the other.

The USA parts catalog lists both brands and does not differentiate between transmissions, body styles, trim levels (except Si), or country of build.



If you are really worried about it, pull a plug out and see who made it. Get the same plugs.


EDIT: Oh, I looked up a sedan at first.
Now I see a coupe shows different plugs for each trans choice. F* that, the engines are exactly the same as a sedan.

My catalog shows
IZFR6K-11S NGK (a/t for coupe)
SKJ20DR-M11S DENSO (m/t for coupe)
But sedan can use either....???? Someone got a contract I bet!

I would put back in what your Honda came with from Factory.
when I pulled the plugs on my Civic it had the O.E.M Denso plugs still in it.
so that's what I put back in it.

My civic had NGK stock, and i replaced with Denso simply because they were on sale at the parts store for 50% off.
Scored all 4 for under 30$.

It sound like your mechanic was playing a game of "I don't want to climb the ladder right now to grab the NGks." The fact is no plugs will give enough performance boost to damage your transmission or drivetrain. I have used NGK Iridiums in all of my bikes as well as my Civic. They definitely help smooth things out on the high end(10K+) and add MAYBE 3 horses. It's negligible. Anyways, I would recommend them for your car. I believe that they were put on at 50k miles in mine, and at 145k right now they show no symptoms of wearing out. Definitely worth the 10 bucks apiece.
