Rep Power: 0 Can't put back the 2 screws after installed aftermarket double-DIN stereo
Hi folks, I installed a double-DIN JVC receiver in my wife's 2010 LX using the Scoche (sp?) dash trim adapter (with the super lame plastic double-DIN brackets... sigh). Problem is, I can't find where to re-insert the 2 (8mm I believe) screws that I removed by accessing/removing that little cover in front of the cup holders (below the stereo/climate control).
I think maybe those screws attached to the stock metal bracket and that now that it's removed (for the plastic double-DIN brackets) there is nowhere for them to screw into. It doesn't seem to rattle around or anything so I'm particularly worried, but I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks!!

I have replaced mine with the same part, your assumption is correct, those screws attach to the original stereo itself, so once you take it out there is no longer any place for the screws to go, and they serve no further purpose.

I was really disappointed by the plastic double-DIN brackets but I didn't want to delay the installation and so I used them, but after a couple years and a bunch of speed bumps later, I wouldn't be surprised if those plastic side brackets break.
Anyone know where to get a metal double-DIN bracket that would fit?
