Re: Valvoline next gen is under spec oil...?

It's recycled oil. I don't think I would use it in something I care about.

I guess you can add Valvoline to the rather surprising list of oil bottlers that use misleading wording to trick the consumer into thinking it meets the specs stated.

"Meets and exceeds specs!"
Maybe some, but certainly not all of them.

I was pretty surprised though coming from valvoline I mean yeah I no
its recycled oil. but if it were Wallmart house brand recycled oil I can
understand. but coming from Valvoline.? I will never use there oil that's
for sure. I use Pennzoil Platinum in the civic thank goodness for that.

but if it were Wallmart house brand recycled oil I can understand.
WHY would that make it any more acceptable?

Valvoline has some good oil. Recycled apparently is not one of them.

Look at the list of oil makers that are now licensed to use the "dexos1" specification name for GM, Valvoline has a few of their products in it. http://www.centerforqa.com/gm/dexos1-brands

Also read about the dexos spec http://www.centerforqa.com/gm/about-dexos

I use Pennzoil Platinum in the civic thank goodness for that.
Mobil and Pennzoil were among the very first to blend oil that met Hondas HTO-06 specification.

Also, is this PQIA trustworthy? (I personally have not heard of them before.)

Have their findings on this oil been confirmed by other independent sources?

Recycled ?

Most shops dump everything but the kitchen sink into that drain pan.
