how much force does it take to deploy curtain airbag?

Hello everybody, I just had something unfortunate happen, I was going about 30mph and got t-boned on driver side by a truck, curtain airbag popped out. Now my baby is dead, battery, light, hood all crooked. Its so dead that the odometer won't even turn on , I'm trying to prove the other vehicle was speeding, is this possible? thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Glad you're alive.

Be happy the airbags did their job. You might not have been able to type had the bags not done their job. You could be eating blender dinner through a straw (or worse) had they not been there.

I have 2 answers for that: "Probably not very likely on your own", and "I don't have any more answers".

Insurance involved? (Hope it's a good company.)

Crash reconstruction expert analyst on the scene? (Ask the insurance company.)

Did the other vehicle have a deployment event of airbags and/or seat belt tensioners AND their vehicles SRS is the type that records data up to the time of the event? (Might need a court order for this.)

Length of the other vehicles skidmarks combined with assessment of the severity of damage to both vehicles? (Ask the expert.)

Give up your phone and have it analyzed to prove you weren't using it at the time of the crash (if the cops didn't already do this)

Good luck, sounds like you're gonna need if you are gonna try to beat it.
