Rep Power: 0 Rear Seat locking mechanism?
Ever since I installed seat covers on my 2008 civic sedan, I am no longer able to get the seat to lock down. In fact, after looking under the seat to see what was locking it down to the body, I realized there isn't anyway that I can see to make it lock. All I see is a metal loop that has no way to hold in place to body of the car.
Any advice is appreciated.[/FONT]

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: Rear Seat locking mechanism?
Rear seat lower cushion:
The wire loop at the rear edge of the cushion is supposed to be bolted to the floor. Most people just leave the bolt out.
The 2 loops at the front edge on the bottom just mash into the little recessed pockets in the floor.
Sit, jam a knee, or pound on the cushion to lock them in place.
A sharp tug will get them loose again.
If your cover tucks under the front edge of the cushion, it may be too thick to allow these to lock.
