Rep Power: 0 Looking at a Civic
Hi, I'm looking at an 09 Civic EX coupe with a manual transmission & 51,000 miles on it. I would like to know if there are any issues I need to watch for when I go to test drive it. Would the engine block issue or the 3rd gear transmission issue would affect it? Here is the VIN if it helps 2HGFG11839H513124. Thanks.

Re: Looking at a Civic
jwhite, I just purchased an 08 LX with 83K miles on the engine for my G/son
and he said he had checked the oil the first two fillups? Then at 85K he ran
the engine low with oil and lost a rod bearing, with NO OIL light ever coming
on. We added 3 qts before it got to a half qt. low. I picked up an 09 engine
with 17K miles on it and accordig to EZONE, the new block came in after the
vin# 2HGFA163X9H519453. The engine out of the 09 was almost 7 thousand
AFTER the new engine. So if your vin # is later then the above listed vin I would
say you have the new engine. Which of course would be a plus.
I hope this helps!! tenn.vol.
