Rep Power: 0 Speakers for my 2006 Civic, please help !
> So i finally got my car and i found these speakers on ebay and they are 250 watts each and are $30 plus $15 for shipping. Any thoughts on them (price, quality etc)?
>> Now i am kind of confused because i know the watt output for my civic is 160w and would it matter if i change my front two speakers to the 250w and leave the back two as the back ones 160 w ones? Would it sound weird?
>>> How loud is 250w and is it worth it? Any feedback will be helpful thank you so much in advance!

Honestly, your stock speakers probably sound better than those. Save your money and get a pair of Pioneers for a decent sounding low budget speaker.
As far as wattage, it means nothing for how loud it sounds. That is just a bad reference based on how much power it can handle for 1 second. If you stereo is rated for 160w (assuming no amp) that would be total peak power output for all channels. Figure 7 to 20 watts per channel. Look at the sensitivity for an idea of volume. For a system with no amp, you want a speaker with a sensitivity rating over 90dB. The higher the number, the less power required to hit a higher volume.

Plenty to choose from in your price range
Look for a good 89+ Sensitivity rating
And probably at least 30~35+ RMS rating
Higher peak power would be a bonus, but it wouldn't really matter much since stock HU's don't push that much power in the first place

Your first and third choices will play louder than your 2nd or fourth from a stock head unit. If the volume is a concern, use the fader to adjust the lower volume speakers to match the higher volume speakers.
As far as picking speakers it is best to find a place to listen to them if possible. Everyone hears differently and what one person likes, someone else may not. A speaker you like might sound to bright to me, or you may like strong mid-range which kills my ears. All speakers sound differently so always try to listen to them first.

PIONEER TS-A1674R 6-1/2" 3WAY 300W CAR Speakers ---> i bought those speakers and i thought my front speakers were 6 1/2" but my mechanic said the pioneers are two big and have to be about a half inch smaller and require some cutting around the edges, any thoughts on that,Is he right or is he mistaken?
(Note:**These same speakers fit 6 3/4 )
