Just bought a 2012 si coupe 5 days ago. I love the car, way more torque than last years model, but It has real bad rev hang. Sounds like Im not taking my foot off the gas when I shift. Im taking it to the shop tomorrow and I will post what they say after. Has anyone else had this problem?

unfortunately i think its "normal" due to the DBW (drive by wire) throttle setup with no cable. its all computer controled and there can be some lag since its not a mechanical pedal anymore. they first introduced this in the 2006 civic and i only drove it once to make me never want to buy a civic again. looks like they never got it perfect after 6 yrs.

So I brought the car to the dealer today and didnt find out much. I bought the car in Vermont and live in south Florida and theres none around here. Everyone at the dealership came out to see it and they told me I could leave it and they would look at it, but by the look in their eyes, I could tell that they wanted to take turns beating it. So I guess Ill have to wait for a software upgrade to come out. The service guy did admit that there is a problem with it but also admitted that they have no flash for it thus far.
I will update the thread when I find out more

your car does that for a reason. The engine revs so high that dropping down to a normal idle would not give the performance that is desired. I was concerned about this same issue. After doing some research i found out that it was designed to keep the engine RPM higher to get the most HP while shifting. It is somewhat annoying at first but you get used to it quick, especially when tooling around in the car.

I agree with you when your coming out at high rpms or if your a slow shifter But when your shifting at low rpms (saving fuel ) it sucks!!!! It actually burns the clutch and jerks forward.I see that Hondata cured this problem with the 11 so I guess I gotta wait.
