maintenance after 100,000

So my 2007 civic dx just reached 100k, what should i have checked/replaced on my next visit to the mechanic?

i do the oil and oil filter every 5k but nothing else, so it's probably in need of other stuff, any thoughts?

Transmission fluid, brakes/brake fluid, power steering fluid, plugs, air filter. If you haven't, a tire rotation wouldn't hurt either. I would have them check the chassis components as well. More than likely won't need them replaced, but having them checked since the car will more than likely be in the air won't hurt.

i've had the transmission fluid changed on a few previous cars and every time it ends up really messing with the cars... are you sure this should be done?

also the i think the car as a timing chain not a belt so that should be good. right?

The problem with the automatics is that if you wait too long and don't keep up with it, all that dirt and gunk ends up basically holding things together and you run the risk of basically killing the transmission. If you follow Honda's service intervals, it shouldn't be an issue. Also, keep in mind that a flush and a fluid change are two different things. The former is much more severe and seems to be the killer. You never fully drain all the fluid out in an automatic IIRC.

plus, there is the unknown life of an 8th gen auto - seems that since yours are at 100k and is still alive, some of the plague is solved? 7th gen ones tend to die at 100k, less or more.
