Rep Power: 0 8 Disc CD changer or not
I just bought a 2011 Honda Civic Sedan SI. This car only has a single CD player and I am toying with the idea of adding the CD changer in the back. I have a couple of questions.
1. I can place all my CD's on a thumb drive and input that through the cars stereo, how is the quality compared to the CD sound?
2. Can I install the CD changer in the back myself?
If the sound is comparable between the two outputs it probably makes sense to save the $$$.
So far this car is pissing me off, I am a motorcyclist and ride my bike all summer and the two last days have been beautiful and I am enjoying the car so much the bike is just sitting there!

It depends on what bitrate you use. If you use FLAC format, the sound quality, should, in theory, be just as good as if it were off the CD. Keep in mind though FLAC format audio files take up much more than .mp3 and .wma files. I'd go that route since I'm cheap as eff and if it's dealer installed, it's gonna cost an arm and a leg. And probably a kidney. You could always get an aftermarket one installed, which I'd think would be much, much less.
