I have an 07 Civic LX Sedan and am getting ready to start commuting. I have a 360 Mile commute so I will start my drive at 2am.. I want to find out what is the best, brightest light that I can legally get away with? Right now I am just running the Stock Headlights with bulbs. Is there something out there that is better? I want as much light as possible...

for hi beam its a 9005, already pretty much one of the best halogen bulbs and no real upgrade. for lo beams its 9006 and the best are philips XP (xtreme power) or XV (xtreme vision). im not sure if the XV are available in that size, and they are way more expensive. the XP is cheaper and still a great upgrade. www.powerbulbs.com and if thats not good enough, you can get the catz zeta ballasts on ebay for $50 to boost the voltage to the headlights. this last solution is by far the most effective, but it requires some custom wiring to the headlight plugs and mounting the somewhat large ballasts. i have them on my hi beams and it makes an amazing difference.

I went with 10K HID for low beam only. I work nights every other week and drive through the woods, I would recommend upgrading to HID's and remember the higher K value represents the color. 10K is a cool blue hue. 85 bucks from www.tophid.com and installation is really easy on these car's. The light output is just amazing even over the PIAA Extreme Whites priced at 70 bucks.

If your asking me, the answer is yes i do still have the stock hi beams installed. I have attached a picture of 3 HID installs i did a while back. From the Left is an 06 Chrysler Pacifica with 75W 10Kv HIDs, Center is an 07 Ford Mustang with 35W 8Kv HIDs, and Right is a 07 Ford Escape with 35W 10Kv HIDs. So here clearly you can tell the difference between the wattage of HIDs, and the Kv emitted light. There is way more to get into like quality, Slim Ballast, Fatties, Harness bypass's (Bambi Cables), and all sorts of nonsense that needs to be explained to those that want the absolute finest lights.
