Hi, I just got a 2010 civic recently and wanna upgrade my horn. Can anyone advice me on how to do it myself and is it just plug and play or do I have to modify anything? thanks a lot. :-)

Oh my god PLEASE let me know if you make any progress here. When I lock the car, I'll only hit the button once so it doesn't honk. The alarm goes on anyway after about 15 seconds or so anyway.
I work next to a body shop that obviously does a lot of putting cars back together. I'll inquire what it takes to change/modify the sound of the horn....

Remove the front bumper, which is probably pretty easy based on my experience with 7th gens. There is a screw in each wheel well below the headlights, holding on the edges of the bumper, and probably 4 beneath the car that hold it on to the frame from below the car. Then there are probably a dozen plastic clips that you have to pop open with two flat-head screwdrivers and pull out (these are in the wheel well, along the bottom between the screws, and along the top of the grill. After these are removed you can gently pull the bumper out and forward from the sides to pop it loose. That is just a guess based on experience, but I am sure you can find an exploded view on how the bumper attaches somewhere online. Then to replace the horn, just cut the wire to the old one (leave yourself some length to wire in the new), take out the bolt holding it on, and install a new one (if you want loud, look for those produced by Hella). If you get dual-tone, connect the wires from both horns to the supply wire you just cut. Mount the second horn in a pre-existing hole on the other side of the radiator. Test it to see if it works, then put the bumper back on.

I used the horn from the Honda Fit one tone lower and less tinny. I did not remove the front bumper, just lowered the the front bottom covers and was able to do it. Was able to get the plastic cover out of the bumper and put it in that way. There are several posts and video's on youtube.

College Hills Honda sells an "Accord horn upgrade" for the civic .... thay also have a podcast on how to install.
Remove front bumper, one screw one wire and you are all set. The bumper removal is the hardest part.
