Re: Best Civic From 06-09?

Well he is asking 06-09 with 150 + HP so I think that rules out the 99DX.

Re: Best Civic From 06-09?

The only new civic that has more than 150 hp is the SI. The SI is the best version all together and gets great gas mileage.

Hell go buy the new crz. I drove that thing the other day and damn that thing is ballin. It has some good power to it and great handling, you can get great gas mileage. I estimated 45 mpg on it.

Yeah.02civicsi02 is right.Only Civics from 06-09 that got over 150WHP is an Si.Although I've seen some Civic Si's that dynoed at just above 150hp which is quite low.But know that Si's don't come in AT.The Honda CR-Z is rated at a combined 122 hp at 6000 rpm which is quite powerful for a hybrid. It is also the only hybrid that has a base price of under $20,000.I'm thinking the WHP for the CR-Z would be around 100-110whp.Torque is rated at 128ft.lb.

The dyno they are on must be a crappy dyno to make only 150 out of the new SI. The new SI dyno at round 180 whp.

Re: Best Civic From 06-09?

180 is realistic number for 8th gen SI...

but 7th gen accord will have you 150+ HP and auto

Hey.. I just bought an 06 SI, i have only had it for 2 weeks, but it gets 29 mpg in highway/city setting. It's geared low, so you end up chucking out 3.5or 4 K rpm if you hit the highway. That's 70ish MPH....Plus, its fun to dust Mustang guys that like to slow down, and rev up there engines...

Re: Best Civic From 06-09?

I'm new to this Honda board. I just became the proud owner of an 06 Civic SI 3 weeks ago...But a Volkswagen GTI will flat get you down the road. The gasoline models are the fastest, but they usually require monthly maintenance. The old VW TDI's will run for ever, but they aren't race cars.

I had one of the 2011 Mustang V6's with the 305 HP 3.7L. I assure you, you will NOT dust one of them with an SI. I could destroy 350z's and G35's all day long without even trying. That being said, it gets better gas mileage than an SI, and doesn't take premium fuel. And has a lower base price. Traded mine in for my 2011 EX because that Mustang was in the shop 5 times in 6 months. Some of them were major problems. I suggest sticking with a Honda. They're not the fastest cars around, but they actually run relatively problem free, and that's what counts.
