noob question. sorry

hey guys. i dont really know much about cars but i just bought a brand new 2010 civic ex sedan with an automatic transmission. i wanted to get a manual but my fiance doesnt know how to drive one. i dont like how the stock exhaust looks n i was thinking of getting 1 but i dont know if it would only help manual cars. would getting a new exhaust improve the perforamance of my car? if so any suggestions? i rather spend money on an exhaust then on a muffler tip. im also trying to read and learn more about how to improve the cars performance. any tips will be appreciated. thanks alot guys.

Re: noob question. sorry

auto or manual doesnt matter. the auto trans does eat up a bit more engine power (maybe 10-15%) but you can still add parts and get similar results.
