XM antennas

Hello,
I have a 2007 civic SI 2 doors, I am planning to in install the Honda genuine accesory xm kit, but I do not want to install the antenna that comes with the kit (the one that is fitted inside of the windshield) ,instead I want to install the Honda body colored antenna fitted to the roof that comes with the Navi models.
Does anyone knows if the Honda roof antenna will works with the Honda xm accessory kit?

Re: XM antennas

i dont see why not, antennas have the same basic hookup. the plugs may not match, so you have to figure out how to splice wires. also, the antenna still gets good reception if you put it inside the car like on the rear deck lid.

Re: XM antennas

I have an aftermarket navigation in my Civic and the antenna is actually inside the dash, (I didn't want anyone to see that I have a navigation for theft purposes) and I get fine reception. If you do decide to splice the antenna wires don't make them shorter, cut as little off as possible, antenna wires shouldn't ever be cut to a smaller size.
