Antifreeze Question

My 08 Civic EX Coupe is now about to turn 20k miles. I was checking the antifreeze level last week and noticed it is a tad bit low. Is this normal? I noticed under the hood where the notice says to use Honda antifreeze. If not other antifreeze could damage the engine. What type of antifreeze do you all use? Thanks.....Matt

Re: Antifreeze Question

Is it normal to lack at 20k miles or do I have a leak?

Re: Antifreeze Question

Agree with original fluids only.

Check the level when the engine is at temp ( it will have the most fluid in reservoir) and then check it hot each time. It will move a little up and down but not very much.

Maybe the dealer will give you a little added to the system. Not sure if the 8th gens still use the blue or not.

Re: Antifreeze Question

coolant evaporates eventually, summer just passed alot of heat more evaporation. Fill it up and if it goes low noticably quick u probably have a leak.
