IPOD & Factory Head Unit

Okay, after much searching on the subject, I figured I'd just throw it out there...

I have an 2007 Si with the Premium Audio System. I am looking to play my 80 gb Ipod classic through my factory HU. I DONT want any kind of FM modulator where I have to tune in a radio station to hear a horrible quality song.

I would like to have something where I can have the ipod charge & play when connected. I realize there is the AUX connector & could easily just connect it that way, but will it charge the ipod as well?

I want to make this as painless as possible in terms of money spent...lol.

Thanks for any help in advance...

Re: IPOD & Factory Head Unit

If you want to charge while playing just get a charger which plugs into the 12v outlet.

Aren't the Honda music link for iPods like $200?

they sell cheap conversion cables where one side goes to the factory radio cd changer port (on the back of the deck) and the other side plugs to your ipod.

Re: IPOD & Factory Head Unit

The Belkin Auto Kit is the best option in my opinion. It's only $25, it will charge your iPod, and has an aux out so you can utilize the digital line-out of the dock connector instead of the headphone port (noticeable difference in quality).

After that, all you need is a short cable with 3.5mm male stereo mini jacks on both ends. Since your adapter will already be close to the Aux in port, a 6ft cable is overkill. Here's a 2ft cable for $1.

You're just $26 away from enjoying your iPod in your car in a very convenient manner
